Petworth Cottage Museum

Petworth Cottage Museum is a Leconfield Estate cottage that has been restored, redecorated and equipped as if it were 1910, when it was the home of Mrs. Mary Cummings. Mary was the tenant from 1901 to 1930, and the reconstruction takes account of the living memories of Mary’s time and her work as a seamstress at Petworth House. Petworth Cottage Museum is atmospheric, nostalgic and educational. Staffed by friendly and knowledgeable volunteer stewards and run by a local independent charity.
