There are loads of great places to explore across West Sussex but you simply can’t beat the beach. Who can resist the sea air, big skies and the crunch of pebbles under foot? Whatever the weather my family, friends and I wrap up warm and enjoy Worthing seafront all year round.
In autumn and winter you just have to remember to keep cosy, ‘cause when the wind blows at the coast you really know about it. An essential piece of winter kit is a bobble hat, so essential in my book that a friend and I set up our own bobble hat business. The trick is to wear them with pomfidence!
We’re all mesmerized by the sea today, we’ve happened upon a really calm day and there’s barely a wave. Paddle boarders are having a trouble-free time as they glide along…I’m sure they don’t usually make it look that easy. We take a turn along the pier, mess around on the beach and then join the crowds that are simply strolling up and down the promenade. I love the madness that abounds here, it’s a real window on humanity: walking, jogging, rollerskating, biking, skateboarding…it’s all on show and everyone happily falls in together.
The seafront architecture’s amazing and the colours are so vivid in the sunlight…plenty of inspiration for my next pattern designs. We grab fish and chips before we head back…it would be a crime not to. It’s been a fab day filled with sun, sea, sand (well, pebbles!), pompoms and fun. What more does a girl want?
